Agile IT Project Manager – 6 Month Contract, Cork, Software Implementation

Cork Based Client, Hybrid Role – Onsite One Day Weekly, Initial 6-Month Contract, Rolling Basis

My client are looking to take on an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to oversee the delivery of software projects for a leading health insurance client. This position is offered on a daily rate contract for an initial 6 months, with potential extensions, and involves working within a mature PMO across impactful technology initiatives.

Role Overview:

You will take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, ensuring successful planning, coordination, testing, deployment, and stakeholder approval of various solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee complete project lifecycles for enterprise-level software systems
• Coordinate efforts across development, QA, infrastructure, and business functions
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and external vendor involvement
• Maintain clear communication, reporting, and strong governance practices
• Promote Agile methodologies within the team environment

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 6+ years of experience in IT Project Management, preferably in large corporate settings
• Proven ability to lead and deliver complex software projects (e.g., custom builds, system integrations, or digital transformations)
• Strong interpersonal and planning skills, with a solid understanding of business priorities
• Experience juggling multiple projects and collaborating with technical teams
• Proficient with project tools such as Jira, MS Project, and Confluence
• Agile, PMP, or Prince2 certifications are a plus
